What is Eid al-Fitr?
Eid al-Fitr is one of the great festivals of Muslims who
celebrate this day after a month of fasting to please God and receive the
reward of a month of patience and tolerance in this feast.
What is the philosophy of Eid al-Fitr?
As we have mentioned, Eid al-Fitr is one of the most important Eids among Muslims, because on this day, Muslims ask for their reward from God.
On this blessed day, fasting is forbidden and it is
obligatory for Muslims to pay the Fitriyah. Also, in other hadiths, many points
have been stated regarding the importance of this important Eid, and in Mufatih
al-Jinan, there are also various actions for it, such as night prayers.
Specially for the night of Eid al-Fitr.
Philosophy of Zakat Fitriyah
Scholars have also pointed out that it is obligatory for a
person to pay zakat fitriyya for himself and all those who are dependent on him
on this Eid. On this blessed day, everyone shares in the common joy and happiness,
and the existence of this zakat is to remove the negative effects of
deprivation and poverty from Islamic societies.
